You may be in two minds about whether or not to have a new kitchen installed. This is perfectly understandable: a new kitchen can be a major investment and you may have become attached to your old one. However, every kitchen needs to be updated eventually. Is it time to replace yours with one of our brand new fitted kitchens? To help you answer this question, we’ve developed a list of signs that your old eating space needs to be replaced.

1. Discolouration

If your current kitchen contains wooden or plastic surfaces, they may become discoloured over time due to repeated staining from food and condiments. What’s more, your kitchen’s colours may simply fade with age. Discolouration takes a long time to build up, but once it has developed it can have a severely detrimental effect on the kitchen’s aesthetic. If your old kitchen is starting to look a little off-colour, it might be time to start considering a replacement.

2. Chipped or dented cupboards and surfaces

Over time, your old kitchen can become damaged, even if it is made from relatively durable materials. Wooden, plastic and even marble surfaces can become chipped while metal can be dented. A few chips or dents here and there won’t harm your kitchen’s appearance too much, but too many of them can be very noticeable.

3. Cleaning problems

As a kitchen gets older, dirt and debris can build up in hard-to-reach nooks and crannies. As such, it can become more difficult to keep an old kitchen looking clean as time goes on. Here at MLS, we have a range of kitchens that we can fit to your available space’s exact measurements, thus minimising the number of areas where dirt can build up. If your kitchen is becoming hard to clean, it’s probably time to consider a replacement.

If it’s time to replace your kitchen, we at MLS Kitchens can offer you a wide range of options that will last for years to come.
